Appointments and fees
Booking Appointments
Appointments must be booked in advance via our contact form, email, or telephone. By booking an appointment, you confirm that you have read and agree to these Terms. All appointments are subject to availability and are not confirmed until you receive written confirmation from us. We reserve the right to decline or cancel a booking in accordance with our Termination of Care policy set out below.
Fees and Payment
Our fee schedule is available upon request and will be provided to you by email. All fees are quoted and payable in pounds sterling.
For individual consultations, an invoice will be issued within a few days of your appointment and payment is due within 14 days of the invoice date. For delivery only, a non-refundable deposit of £2,000 is required at 36 weeks to secure your delivery date, with the remaining balance invoiced after delivery and due within 14 days of the invoice date. For care packages, a non-refundable deposit of £2,000 is required at the start of care, with the remaining balance invoiced after delivery and due within 14 days of the invoice date. For cerclage procedures, an invoice will be issued within a few days of your procedure and payment is due within 14 days of the invoice date.
Please note that maternity services are not typically covered by private health insurance. We ask patients to settle all fees directly with us. Where applicable, we will provide itemised invoices to assist you in making a claim to your insurer. Please refer to the Private Medical Insurance section below for full details of your responsibilities regarding insurance.
We accept payment by bank transfer and major debit and credit cards. All fees are exclusive of hospital charges, laboratory tests, and other third-party services. Fees are subject to change with no less than 30 days' written notice.
Late payment and debt recovery
Payment is due within 14 days of the invoice date unless otherwise agreed in writing. Failure to pay within the agreed timeframe may result in the suspension of future appointments and ongoing care.
Outstanding balances overdue by more than 30 days may accrue interest at 4% per annum above the Bank of England base rate from the original due date until payment is received in full. Interest terms are set out in our Terms and Conditions, a link to which appears on every invoice.
Unpaid debts may be referred to a debt recovery agency. All associated recovery costs, including reasonable legal fees and court costs where applicable, will be added to the outstanding balance.
Hospital and Third-Party Charges
Please note that while Mr Myriknas charges professional fees for his services, additional costs will be incurred for hospital services and facilities, anaesthetist fees, laboratory tests and diagnostic services, medications and medical supplies, and overnight stays and room charges.
These charges are billed separately by the respective providers - The Kensington Wing or The Chelsea Wing at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, or other relevant parties - and are entirely outside the control of this practice. We accept no responsibility for third-party charges. Please contact the relevant provider directly for comprehensive cost estimates before your procedure.
Private Medical Insurance
We are registered with a number of private medical insurers, including BUPA, Allianz Partners, Aviva, AXA Health, Vitality Health, and WPA. Please note that this list may change and we recommend confirming current registration with us before booking.
Please be aware of the following important points regarding private medical insurance:
- Most obstetric services are not covered by private medical insurance
- You are responsible for contacting your insurer and obtaining pre-authorisation before any treatment. Failure to obtain pre-authorisation does not reduce your liability to us in any way
- We do not offer direct billing to insurers. All fees must be settled directly with us
- We will provide itemised invoices for you to submit to your insurer for reimbursement where applicable
- Any shortfall between our fees and the amount reimbursed by your insurer is your sole responsibility and must be settled directly with us
- Payment of any outstanding balance not covered by your insurer is due immediately upon receipt of our invoice, regardless of any ongoing dispute with your insurer
- Any excess, co-payment, or non-covered services are your responsibility
- We cannot guarantee that your insurer will cover any services or costs, and we accept no responsibility for any claim rejection or partial reimbursement
- You are responsible for understanding the terms of your own insurance policy, including any coverage limits or exclusions
Please be aware that in many cases, the amount reimbursed by your insurer may be substantially lower than our fee - sometimes significantly so. The full outstanding balance remains your responsibility regardless of the level of reimbursement received.
We strongly recommend contacting your insurance provider before booking to confirm whether your policy covers the treatment you require and to understand what pre-authorisation is needed.
Cancellation and refund policy
Where services are booked remotely (by telephone, email, or online enquiry), you have the right to cancel within 14 days of booking under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, unless the service has already commenced with your agreement. The following terms apply in addition to your statutory rights:
Patient Cancellations
- More than 48 hours' notice: Full refund of consultation fees
- 24 to 48 hours' notice: 50% refund of consultation fees
- Less than 24 hours' notice: No refund
- No-show: Full fee charged, no refund
Obstetric Package Deposits
- You have 14 days from the date of payment to cancel your package for a full refund, provided no clinical appointment has yet taken place
- After 14 days, the £2,000 deposit becomes non-refundable as we have reserved your delivery date exclusively
- Once the first clinical appointment has taken place, the deposit is non-refundable
- Refunds will be processed within 14 working days to the original payment method
Package Completion and Delivery Services
Obstetric packages reserve your delivery date exclusively. Once care has commenced, the following applies:
- Standard package completion: The remaining balance will be invoiced after delivery, with payment due within 14 days of the invoice date
- If you choose a different provider for delivery: The full package balance remains due. You have paid for the exclusive reservation of our delivery services, and we may have declined other patients during this period
- Emergency NHS delivery (beyond your control): You will receive a partial refund equivalent to 50% of the standalone delivery fee. All antenatal care provided and delivery reservation fees are non-refundable
- Preterm delivery requiring emergency care: A pro-rata refund will be calculated based on weeks of unused antenatal care
These terms reflect the significant professional indemnity costs associated with providing obstetric services.
Practice Cancellations
If we need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, we will provide a minimum of 48 hours' notice except in cases of medical emergency or circumstances beyond our reasonable control. You will be offered an alternative appointment at your earliest convenience. If you are unable to attend the rescheduled appointment, a full refund will be provided.

We will not be liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations where such failure or delay results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to:

- Epidemic or pandemic
- Terrorist attacks, civil war, civil commotion, or riots
- Nuclear, chemical, or biological contamination
- Strikes, lock-outs, or other industrial action
- Interruption or failure of utility services or telecommunications networks
- Government restrictions or emergency regulations
In such circumstances, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you and minimise disruption. Any prepaid fees for services not yet provided will be refunded on a pro-rata basis.
Patient responsibilities
As a patient, you agree to:

- Attend appointments punctually
- Follow medical advice and treatment plans as discussed

- For all other claims, our liability is limited to the total fees paid by you for the specific service giving rise to the claim
- We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses (including loss of earnings, distress, or disappointment)
- We maintain professional indemnity insurance as required by the GMC
